| Eco Goal - Waste to Art | As part of the ‘Swachh Survekshan 2025 - 2026’, the Manjeri Municipality dedicated ‘Eco Goal - Waste to Art’ installed at the Seethihaji Bus Stand area to Manjeri. Honorable MLA Adv. M. Rahmatullah inaugurated it. The Chairperson of the Municipality, Vallanchira Abdul Majeed, presided over the event. The aim of this project is to create awareness about waste disposal by converting waste materials into beautiful works of art. This is with the aim of creatively recycling the inorganic waste dumped in our surroundings. The ‘football star hitting the ball’ was made using waste materials such as plastic, iron scraps, old bottles, and tires. The materials collected by Harithakarma Sena from various wards of the Municipality have been mainly used for the art forms. The Municipality’s appreciation gift was handed over to Unni Ugrapuram and Sreeraj Kuniyil, who made the sculpture for the Municipality. |

Vallanchira Abdul Majeed took oath as the new Chairperson of Manjeri Municipality. Returning Officer Malappuram DDE A.M. Rafeek administered the oath. In the Chairperson election held at the council meeting, 36 out of 53 members voted for Vallanchira Abdul Majeed from UDF. LDF Chairperson candidate Nisaraly got 16 votes. The only representative of BJP abstained from the vote. Vallanchira Abdul Majeed, who contested for the post of UDF Chairperson, was nominated by K.M. Hussain. V.P. Firoz supported him. In the election for Vice Chairperson held in the afternoon, Adv. Beena Joseph was elected. Adv. Beena Joseph from UDF received 36 votes and Mrs. Fasla from LDF received 16 votes. V.P. Firoz proposed Adv. Beena Joseph as the Vice Chairperson candidate. K.M. Hussain supported it. Chairperson Vallanchira Abdul Majeed administered the oath to Adv. Beena Joseph. |

The senior member of the current council, V.K. Sundaran (Veempur Ward), took the oath first. Returning Officer P.V. Rafeeq administered the oath. Then, 52 councilors took the oath on a ward basis. The senior member administered the oath to them. After the ceremony, the first meeting was held under the chairmanship of the senior member. Municipal Secretary Y.P. | The face of Manjeri is changing..... | The dream project of Manjeri Municipality, Ahmed Kurikkal Memorial Bus Bay cum Shopping Complex, will be inaugurated by the Honorable Leader of the Opposition V.D. Satheesan on Monday, October 13, 2025 at 3.00 pm. Manjeri's beloved MLA Adv. U.A. Latheef will preside over the function. A colorful proclamation procession will be held from the municipal office premises accompanied by fireworks and musical instruments. A musical feast will be held after the inauguration ceremony. Each and every one of you is welcome to the function.

| Bio-waste in the town hall will now be composted | Organic waste from Manjeri Municipal Town Hall can now be used as fertilizer. For this, the organic waste treatment aerobic compost unit built under the Kerala Solid Waste Management Project (KSWMP) was dedicated to the nation. Adv. U.A. Latheef MLA inaugurated it. | Don't throw away diaper waste anymore... The municipality will come and collect it at your home... | Don't throw away diaper waste anymore... The municipality will come and collect it at your home... There is no need to bother disposing of the diaper waste used in our homes anymore. For this, the municipality has prepared a new plan. The plan is being implemented in collaboration with the government-approved agency 'ACRI'. Every Wednesday, all the houses that register the app will be visited and the waste will be collected. Beneficiaries will have to pay Rs. 50 per kilo. The flag-off and registration of the waste collection vehicle was done by Manjeri Municipality Chairperson V.M. Subaida. | The second phase of the Widening Challenge project | The second phase of the work implemented under the Manjeri Municipality Widening Challenge project has begun. The project involves widening and upgrading the main roads of the city with public participation. In the first phase, the KRS road work was started. In the second phase, the road passing near the Pushpa Hotel is being widened and upgraded. The landowners have not given land at the beginning of the road. Despite constant contact with them, no positive action was taken. All other lands have been obtained. With this, it was decided to start the project using the land obtained. The work was inaugurated by the Honorable Municipality Chairperson V. M. Subaida. Standing Committee Chairpersons C. Sakkeena, N. K. | The International Anti-Drug Day | The International Anti-Drug Day district level program was held at Manjeri HMY Higher Secondary School under the leadership of the Excise Department. Adv. U. A. Latheef MLA inaugurated the event. The Municipal Chairperson presided over the meeting. He urged everyone to stand united to prevent the increasing use of drugs among students. Malappuram Deputy Excise Commissioner C. Jiju Jose was the chief guest. District Excise Mission Manager A. R. Nigeesh administered the anti-drug pledge. | TOURISM | The project given by the Manjeri Municipality to construct a park at Vettekode and Payyanad Kuttipara of Municipality has received administrative approval. 1.25 crores for Vettekode Hill View Park and 1.50 crores for water conservation and beautification of Kuttipara Nedukappara Quarry have been sanctioned under the Amrit Project. It was the constant intervention of the municipality that made it possible to get approval for such a large project. The quarry in Nedukappara had earlier been included in the Amrut project and renovated in a beautiful way. The project is being prepared by utilizing other areas around it.

| Disabled | Manjeri Municipality hands over necessary assistive devices to the differently-abled Manjeri Municipality has included the necessary assistive devices to the differently-abled in the 2024-25 annual plan. The distribution ceremony was held at the town hall. 29 items of equipment such as wheelchair, airbed, commode chair, molded shoe, pediatric wheelchair, static cycle, sensory kit, therapy ball, voice recorder, walking stick and others were handed over. Hon. Municipality Chairperson Smt. V. M. Subaida inaugurated the event. Vice Chairman V.P. Firoz presided over the event.
